Week Two!

My mom went home on Tuesday so the reality of having two children is setting in. Actually, everything is going really well. Charlie is very interested in everything that has to do with Matthew, he even nurses Buzz Lightyear with the boppy. Yesterday I was getting a little cabin fever so we went to the Hands on Museum. Charlie loved it. It was raining for the most of the night but then it turned to snow this morning. They cancelled church! I was a little surprised because it really didn't seem like there was that much snow but Seth said there was ice underneath it from the rain and driving would be terrible. They really don't believe in prompt salting and plowing in Ann Arbor. So we had a very relaxing Sunday and we all got naps!

Sleeping, Eating, and Crown Molding!

We have had an enjoyable relaxing few days adjusting to life with a new born. Matthew is now four days old and is a wonderful newborn. He does a lot of eating and lots of sleeping. We have managed to get a few pictures with his eyes open. My mom has been visiting and helping out since the day he was born. It's been so nice having someone with lots of experience around to help out. My friend Mandy is very ambitious and her and my mom put up crown molding in my living room on Friday. The whole process looked really complicated so I was glad to just be an observer. My living room looks amazing, thanks Mandy and mom. On Saturday my mom returned the favor and went and helped Mandy put it up in her house. Charlie is doing ok adjusting to life with a little brother, earlier today he asked me if he could nurse. How do you explain nursing to a two year old?

Welcome Matthew G Thacker!

We had a Valentine's baby! Matthew G Thacker was born on February 14 at 1:08 am. Amazingly he weighed 9lbs 8oz and was 22 in long. The delivery went very well and was very fast. Matthew is healthy and is a good little eater which is making my life easier. Charlie was excited to have us come home from the hospital and to share his cars with his new baby brother. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
I went to lunch with friends a few hours before my "induction."

All ready to go out in the frigid Michigan air!!

The Count Down is On!

We are all anxiously awaiting awaiting the arrival of our new little boy. I have a couple more days until my due date and I am doing just fine. I have stayed very busy with different projects which has made the time fly. Seth is busy busy with school but with a baby on the way he is working hard to stay on top of everything. Charlie is delightful and doesn't really have a clue what is about to happen but he's looking forward to playing with Grandma Christy.
We have experienced some extremely cold weather but now we are back into the 20's and the sun is shinning so I don't complain. It is definitely a great time to be "full term" pregnant. We went to an ice sculpting festival in a nearby town a couple of weeks ago. Charlie loved watching the big chain saws but the novelty wore off fast because it was so cold.
We are doing great and hopefully we should have some pictures coming soon of new baby Thacker!
