Warren Dunes and Lake Michigan!

Last weekend we went camping at Warren Dunes with the Lius. The weather was perfect which meant is wasn't quite warm enough to swim. We had a great time camping out and we even made Charlie hike a dune with us. He might remember it as a death march but he made it and slept really well that night. We played at the beach, played games, slept, and ate great food. I imagine Lake Michigan's coast is similar to Florida's coast minus the palm trees and warm water. I guess you can't have it all.

Charlie in his very own tent!

Those tiny little specks are people to give you an idea of how big the dune is.

My funny Charlie.

Charlie is developing quite the character. Yesterday after he woke up from his nap he sat down at the top of the stairs and we carried on the following conversation:

Me: Charlie, You want to go swimming with Javier?

Charlie: I need to clip my toe nails, they're a bit too long.

Me: Don't you want to go swimming?

Charlie: I need some clippers to cut my toe nails

He really didn't need his toe nails clipped so we went swimming and had a great time!

The other day I was getting ready to leave the house with the boys so I strapped Matthew in his car seat. I forgot something upstairs so I left the boys and ran up my stairs. A minute later I heard Charlie crying so I ran down the stairs to see what his problem was

Me: Charlie, What's wrong?

Charlie: (sobbing) Matthew hit me.

Me: (trying hard not to laugh) I'm sorry.

A Perfect Day!

Last Thursday was my birthday and I have to admit, it was one of the best birthdays I have ever had. It was non-stop fun and non-stop sugar! At the end of the day I was exhausted and sick and then I thought back on what I ate and figured out why. You might not believe it but I really ate all of this!

1. Dark Chocolate Truffles from Schakolad- These are my favorite chocolates and Seth gave me them first thing in the morning and I figured it was a sensible breakfast.

2. Applebe's ice cream sundae- A group of us went there for lunch and they gave me a FREE sundae so of course I had to eat it!

3. Seven layer cookie- Mandy gave me these as part of my gift and they made a great mid-afternoon snack! Graham crackers, sweet and condensed milk, chocolate chips, nuts, coconut and some other stuff, amazing! I still have some in the freezer I'm saving for the right occasion.

4. Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip pie- For dinner Seth took me to this amazing Italian Restaurant on main street that gives you 50 percent off your bill on your birthday so we could somewhat afford it. I had no idea that we got FREE desert but we did and it was yummy, luckily Seth helped me out with this one.

5. Yummy Cupcakes- My good friend Telia was having a shade clothing party at her house that night (www.shadeclothing.com) and I stopped by after dinner and she had made a cup cake tower. They looked really really good so I did what any sensible person would do, I ate one.

6. My Birthday Cake!- Seth made me this glorious Dark chocolate birthday cake which is called "That Cake" because it is so incredible. By this time I was really starting to feel like I was nearing an overdose so I had a thin slice and packed the rest in the freezer along with the Mandy's cookies, and Telia's cupcakes!

My plans for this week include lots of running, and water!

Thanks for the sun glasses Kerri, we all need a little bling!

Cute Cassidy Nicole Brown

Our sister Collete and her husband Mike just adopted a beautiful little girl. She was born on June 7 and wighed 7 lbs 8 oz. We love her thick locks and are looking forward to seeing her in a couple weeks. It will be nice to hold a feather weight for a change.

Joys from toes and garage sales!

Matthew has discovered his toes and he loves life even more. He could care less about toys, he just wants the toes! It's really cute watching him try to get them in his mouth.
our neighboring co-op had a yard sale today and it was wonderful! I pushed Matthew around in the stroller and found good deals everywhere. Plus everyone commented on what an adorable baby I had. It's almost embarrassing how good I feel after getting a great deal. I was able to get Baby Gap shoes for 50 cents and a brand new nine west bag for three bucks and much more!

Summer Fun!

Summer is finally here. We experienced our two weeks of normal weather so now it is super hot and humid! We had a great Memorial Day Barbecue at the apartments we used to live at. They have such an ideal location (ie grill and playground) that we decided to have there again even though we don't technically live there. We invited people who live there so it was legit in the end.
Charlie has had a wonderful time playing in the sprinkler and an inflatable pool Seth's co-worker gave us. I always wanted an inflatable pool growing up. Is it normal to be envious of the toys your kids have? To top off the week we went to the Washtenaw Dairy for ice cream last night. It was a mad house because every body else had the same wonderful idea we had. Seth and I each got single scoops but next time I just want a kid size cone. They were HUGE!
