A Proud Moment!

Seth was selected to give a 15 minute review of some of his research for the Internal Medicine Research Symposium at U of M. His presentation was on how "Lupus Prone Mice Display Endothelial Dysfunction and Abnormal Vascular Repair." Say What? Don't expect any explanation on what that means but it sounded nice. Thanks to Natalie for watching the kiddos I was able to go hear him. For someone who HATES public speaking, he did an awesome job. It's also nice to know that all the many hours he's away from us he's coming along with the whole scientist thing:) Go Seth!

Obsession or Not?

Seth has made a few comments about our stroller collection which now stands at four (its been more). I've explained that each one serves a very specific purpose and we use them all. The other day I had to go pick something big up in my car so I had to haul in a few strollers that were in the trunk. I already had a pile started from some trips to the park, so this is what I ended up with. Is it a bit over the top?

Flying High on FIVE!

Happy Five year anniversary Seth!



What better way to celebrate your five year anniversary than by going to your first Soccer game? Charlie plays on the "Green Dragon" team and loves it. Peewee soccer is the most entertaining sport out there. The boys cried, laughed and landed in a big pile in the middle of the field. Plus, there were more Honda Odysseys than you could shake a stick at!


Here is a look back at FIVE great years. We have been so blessed! Who would have thought two boys, graduate school, and living VERY far away from our families was in our future? It makes me excited about where we might be five years from now. Your guess is as good as ours.(WEST)

FSA (families supporting adoption) Activity!

I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Detroit temple last night with the Families Supporting Adoption group from LDS family services. Before the session we had a scrumptious dinner and then a prayer to start a fast for those in the adoption process. They had each person there explain how there life had been affected by adoption. Even though Seth and I haven't adopted we have definitely been affected by it! Our sister Collete and her husband Mike were able to adopt a baby girl last year after many years of praying and waiting. I have a good friend from high school who adopted a little boy from Ethiopia last year and hopes to adopt more. Mandy and Eddie are hoping to adopt through LDS family services anytime. It's amazing how mindful our Heavenly Father is of his children's righteous desires to have a family and the way he blesses them. I'm so thankful for families!
When I was in the temple I realized it had be exactly five years to the day when I had the opportunity to go to the temple for the first time and receive my endowment. It was nice to reflect back over the last five years and see how the temple has played a role in my life!

Running High!

Natalie and I had an incredible run this morning. We did a 4.2 mile trail run through County Farms park and we couldn't have asked for better weather! Our longets run this season! I never was much of a runner growing up but I'm so grateful for Natalie, my super star running partner who has shared her running enthusiasm with me. The best part is the way you feel after, a very cheap high that gets my day off in the right direction!

This was last summer at a fondue party! We both love chocolate, probably why we need to run so much:)

My Baseball Boy!

With the warmer weather finally here we have been spending most of our time outside. I found a baseball set on clearance in February and Charlie has become obsessed with it. It took him a while to get to the point where he can hit the ball when it is thrown at him, but he finally got it! Every time someone hits the ball in the air he yells, "pop fly." Last week he started talking about needing a mitt. Every time we would go anywhere he asked about the mitt. Finally in Target yesterday, I agreed, and we got a mitt that came with another ball. Since then everything revolves around us going outside and playing. I just put him down for a nap and he cuddled up next to his bat and ball like they were his stuffed animals. It's fun to see him so passionate about something.
