A new discovery!

Seth and I had the funniest conversation last night while eating ice-cream. I thought you all might enjoy it as well.

Seth: This Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream is so good!

Sharon: Do you think the color is a lot lighter in this brand than others?

Seth: What color?

Sharon: The green color of the ice cream.

Seth: It's green?

Sharon: Yes, of course it's green!

Seth: Are you sure? Has Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream always been green?

Sharon: Giggles.

So, he really is color blind. The best part was watching him analyze the ice cream really close. He says he still can't see any green. In his defense, it was pretty light but non the less, green:)

Double the Cousins, Double the Fun!

I feel so blessed to live so close to the greatest cousins in the world. Amber and Cathy drove down from Buffalo, NY to visit Easter weekend.

I felt bad they had to drive through a blizzard to get here, but I'm so glad they made it! We took them to Blimpy Burger for the experience of getting yelled at while ordering (I was actually the only one who did it wrong and got yelled at) and eating really greasy burgers and deep fried broccoli! The place is legendary and was spotlighted on the food network.

Next we dyed Easter Eggs and took turns taking naps. Then of course we had to do an Easter Egg hunt (inside) which was a little anticlimatic because it was just Charlie (Matthew was sleeping) and he was in no rush.

We ate lots of candy and had a grand Easter feast that night. We topped it off by watching "Dan in Real Life" and then we started laughing about all our weird ideas about food! You got to love family who think just like you!

The next morning the Brunette Easter Bunnies left Charlie and Matthew FAT Easter basketts; Charlie was so excited! I love family! Thanks for coming ladies, I can't wait to see you again!

I Won A Major Award!

I'm so excited! I went to the annual Forest Hills co-op meeting and it was VERY long and frustrating but they had door prizes at the end! I won a $50 gift card to KROGER! I hate grocery shopping but this should help! I might spring for a bag of 3 musketeers mint or some other grocery splurge. Any suggestions?

More Time, Spring, and Growing Boys!

My life has completely changed! Seth and I love living in Forest Hills and feel very blessed to live here. When we decided to move from Woodchase I was really sad to leave the dishwasher. We looked into a portable dishwasher but we didn't have the space. Thanks to a great friend, we found the Danby Energy Star Portable Dishwasher! It's only half the size of a normal dishwasher so it fits in our kitchen but it cleans better than any dishwasher I've used! It's amazing how fast I can clean up, not that I minded storing my dirty dishes under my sink:)
The boys are growing fast and are quite the entertaining pair! Matthew has turned into a little climber which has been an adjustment for us. Charlie never climbed anything. Matthew pushed the step stool up to the door, climbed up and was trying to open the door. He was so proud of himself!

Charlie is a reading, riding, running, and non-eating three year old! He is as excited for spring as I am! The other day we were reading a book about airplanes. I was describing the militarise Stealth Bomber and how it destroys things. He proclaimed "the plane destroys things just like Matthew"! I guess this is another huge part of Charlie's life, protecting his railroad tracks from the 13 month old "destroyer."

We had a yummy Green St Patricks day dinner that included Green Potato Soup, Green Rolls, Green Fluff Salad, and Green Deviled Eggs! YUM!

Welcome Spring, we are so READY!

Deja Vu

The thing which makes this comic even more funny is the fact I think I and Sharon have actually had this exact conversation before kind of spooky.

I have also felt like this at times, but hopefully it is not really the case.

Winter Break Blast!

Winter is so long and gloomy in Michigan, all the schools take a winter break the end of February so everyone can go off to warm places. Too bad we couldn't take off to Florida, but instead we went to the largest indoor water park in the country, the KALAHARI (Sandusky, Ohio)! It was amazing! We got a suite for 12 people which we split among four families plus another family came and joined us! We stayed one night (I really wish it could have been more)but we got to swim for two days! We were able to trade babysitting so couples could go on slides together. The kids did great and kept going with no naps. The water park was first class (hot tub, slides, boarding, wave pool, kids place) and I didn't have to worry about getting burned! Home-made Cafe Rio salads and the most intense game of Bohnanza I have ever played really topped off the trip! I can't wait to do it again next year!

This is what it looked like outside:(

And here we are all toasty inside!

Charlie had a blast with his buddies!

The toilet bowl ride! You ride down with four people on a tube and it spits you into a big bowl where you spin around until you drop down to the end. I was seriously scared the first time I went on this. I went with the three other women so it was nothing but screams. There was a video taken of the guys doing this so hopefully I can track it down and post it!

Like the tube ride but your buy yourself. The scary part is you drop into 6 feet of water and it's hard to tell when your going to go down!

Matthew and Seth tired from swimming!

Matthew swinging!

The Wave Pool!

The whole gang minus Ryan and the Garns.

The Fam! The hotel was amazing!

The Great Pleasures of Life!

Sadly, Charlie has the flu but lucky for us he doesn't really act sick except for the occasional run for the toilet! Seth said he would be fine to stay home with the boys if I wanted to go to Church so I took him up on it. Church is COMPLETELY different without kids. I was able to focus, but I really did miss the fam! I came home from church on a great spiritual high to be greeted with the warm sent of baking bread! YIPEE! Seth made bread while I was at church! The recipe is my sister Vanessa's and it's amazing! Thanks Seth and Vanessa and Nora (she supplied key ingredients for the perfect bread).
