Cute Collette and Cassie Came to Catch up!

Seth's sister Collette and her little girl Cassie came for a visit at the beginning of March. I really should send Delta a huge "thank you" note for the unbelievable cheap direct flights they had from Salt Lake to Detroit. It really helped fill our calender with visitors! We went to the Toledo Zoo and there was only a handful of people there and the weather was perfect! I think our favorite animals were the polar bears, they put on a good show for us.

We were able to enjoy an abnormally warm day at the park! Spring is really here!

It was great to see how well the kids got along! Matthew loved this little girl, he kept asking about "Cassssie" after she left.

We went and ate at the "Side Track Cafe" in Ypsi, Cassie loved the Sweet Potato Fries and so did we.

This picture is hilarious! Cassie loves to play with diapers. She seemed to always find one and figure out something fun to do with it. Uncle Seth helped her out with this one, aren't they cute.
Thanks for coming Collette and Cassie, we had a great time!

I Love John Stossel!

So, who saw 20/20 last night? Janie, you would have loved it! John Stossel has the ability to take an issue and actually say the common sense facts about it. He presented "Bailouts and Bull" which covered everything from the stimulus mess to medicinal marijuana use. I would recommend going to his website and reading his article about all the economists who think the stimulus bill is a huge waste of money and is actually hurting the market, didn't hear that on the news.. Here is a little recap of everything he talked about.

My Hero!

While in California, Miranda picked up a bag of Cadbury Mini Eggs (dark). I became completely addicted and was excited to pick up my own bag when I returned home to Michigan. I found the Cadbury Mini Eggs in milk chocolate but not in dark.

I love dark chocolate so of course I began an obsessive search for the dark variety. I went to Target, Meijer, Kroger (different location), and Rite Aide but found no dark chocolate mini eggs only the milk chocolate. I finally broke down and purchased the milk chocolate. They're still really good but not quite as good as the dark. I was a bit deflated but I think I would have survived.

Then, yesterday Seth came home from work with a huge smile on his face. He said, "Sharon, I have a present for you." Sure enough he found them!

Who new a little convenience store on campus would carry them? Seth truly is one in a million!

California Vacation!

Charlie and I took off to California for some visiting and warmth. Our friends from school, Darren and Miranda, live in Southern California (right next to Mexico). Miranda met her husband the same time I met Seth and we all hung out together (we LOVE Sessions). They ended up getting married a week after we did and they also have two boys. I love Miranda, she kept me in constant laughter the whole time we were there. Charlie loved playing with Ryan and I fell in love with 10 week old Zach.

Charlie and I flew into San Diego and what an amazing traveler he was. He was completely entertained with a sticker book and a few regular books. That night is a little fuzzy because we did some running around but I remember being taken back at how beautiful that city was! The next day was the San Diego Zoo and it couldn't have been a better trip. The adrenalin of being at the zoo overpowered the jet lag. ALL the animals were out so we saw everything. Charlie was most excited about the Komodo Dragon. When we got to the Orangutans at the end we had them all to ourselves. They came right up to the glass and played with the boys. What a great memory!

Little Zach loved his sleepy wrap and stayed asleep the whole trip! I'm sold!

It truly was perfect. It was nice not to feel cold or hot!
That night we went to go eat at the Corvette, a complete 60's diner with a DJ, bubblegum, dancing, greasy food, and balloon tying! After all the fun we drove two hours back to Elcentro, the kids mostly slept!

We were able to see Miranda's new house and enjoy playing outside. It was nice to where shorts and sunglasses. We took trips to the park, Costco, and the mall. We even took the boys bowling which happened to be Charlie's first time. He loved it and bowled two games!

The last day we were there we went to the "Castle Park" in Yuma, Arizona (1 hour drove) where it got up to 87 degrees, too hot for me. The boys still had fun running around.

The last night we went to have some real Mexican food. I didn't have a passport so we couldn't go to Mexico but we went to "Roses" which was a few 100 yards away. Yum! Thanks Miranda for your wonderful hospitality! We can't wait to see you in Michigan this fall!

What a beautiful family!
