Ever since we've moved to Michigan four years ago, we have talked of going to a baseball game with the Lius. Sadly, they are moving to Utah next week so we finally had a deadline and went. It was GREAT! I'm disappointed we have never gone to see the Tigers before this. Our seats were high but we had a great view of the Detroit sky line. This was Charlie's first baseball game and he loved it (his Dad also brought a lot of candy), and all of the baseball terms he learned from the Wii came in handy. The weather couldn't have been better and it even turned into an exciting game. Matthew stayed behind with a babysitter which I think was for the best, he wouldn't have lasted five minutes. Go Tigers and thanks Mandy and Eddie for going with us!

Lake Michigan and a Tigers Game!
We headed west to Lake Michigan for a day of basking in warm sun, building sand castles, reading good books, enjoying good company, and wave jumping. Imagine our surprise when we arrived to 40mph winds, and an overcast sky. Sand was blowing everywhere and the camp chairs kept blowing over. Thankfully, because of the wind the waves were huge and perfect for body surfing and the water seemed to be warmer than the outside air. Charlie and Matthew still loved playing in the sand so all was not a loss. We were able to enjoy ourselves enough to stick around for 2 hours (we drove 2 1/2) before we had to pack it in because it started raining. We also stopped at Culver's on the way home for the famous custard and butter burgers, mmmm. Thanks for a great trip and who's up for going back on the 15th?

Those are big waves, the water the next day was as cold 68 degrees. The Tigers game looks fun, we are still trying to make it to one.
I also really wanted to go to a Tigers game as well. Colter and Grant did go one year for Grant's bday. They had fireworks that night and he thought they were for him! I'm so glad you went! I'm glad you had fun at the lake anyway!
